Grandstream GPX 2000 IP telephone

In this guide we'll add an IP phone to your network. First, plug the power supply into an available power outlet.

Connect the supplied Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the IP phone.

Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the free LAN port on the router.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Locate a free LAN port on your router. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the free LAN port on the router. The link light on your router will light, showing a connection has been established.

 

Step 5:

Your router will allocate an IP address to your phone, visible on the phone's display.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Your router should be configured for DHCP - this will allocate an IP address to your IP phone. The IP address of the phone is visible on the phone's dispaly - make a note of it.

Log into the phone via a browser window.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next you need to go to the IP phone's configuration page. Open Internet Explorer, type the IP address from the phone into the address bar, and hit Enter. Log in by using admin for the username, and leaving the password field blank.

Enter the account details for your VoIP account given to you by your VoIP provider.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click Account 1 along the top of the configuration page. Get the ISP details given to you by your VoIP provider - you'll need to input them. Username, password, SIP server and perhaps some other details will have been supplied to you. Click Update then Reboot when you're done.

 

Step 8:

Check the phone is SIP registered.

 

 

 

 

 

 

To check your phone is configured and ready to use, click Status. This page shows that Account 1 is SIP registered, hence ready to use.

 

Step 9:

Test the phone by dialing a number.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Try your phone by dialing a number to test. Success! Your IP phone is now installed.
