Watch our Video

Step 1:

This example assumes a setup of an IP 9212 unit with an IP9202 controller unit attached. The IP 9212 is connected to the network via a router. There is a light attached to port 8 on the IP 9202.

In this guide we'll demonstrate how to use http commands in a browser to command the IP9212 home automation unit from any browser on a network. In this demontration we'll switch a light on and off.

Step 2:

Open browser, and enter http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SetIO?p68=1 The x's represent the IP 9212's IP address

Open a browser, and type the IP address of the IP9212, followed by SetIO?, then p6, then the reference to the port (or ports) you want to set to on or off. Note that it is case sensitive. In this example we wish to switch port 8 on, so the address we need to enter is http://10.2.2.18/SetIO?p68=1. Enter the default username and password when prompted.

Open browser, and enter http://admin:12345678@
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SetIO?p68=1 The x's represent the IP 9212's IP address

The same http command with the username and password entered straight into the address bar, works too. The syntax for this is the same except after http:// the username and password are entered, seperated by a colon and follwed by an @ sign. So to turn the light on, the address is http://admin:12345678@10.2.2.18/SetIO?p68=1.
