In this guide we'll connect an Xbox to the Internet, using a router with a broadband Internet connection. For online gaming you'll need a subscription to Xbox live.
First, connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your Xbox.

Next, connect the other end of this Ethernet cable to a free port on your router. Your Xbox will be assigned an IP address automatically by your router.
